believeagain asked: Hey there :) In your 'Sea Me' post you said that you could recommend some places to buy Olivia's releases. I have all of her albums but I'm really looking for some singles and the Greatest HIts including the DVD since I only have the regular version. However, I think that Samurai on Amazon is quite cool but can get expensive if you buy more than a few items. Do you know any alternative places? I also always have to worry about customs here in Germany for items over $22, it's really annoying :( x

I’m not sure how Germany works, but here for the US customs will not seek any tax as long as the package is marked as a gift.

If you’ve already tried the regular avenues, you can also try eBay. On eBay, I generally buy from three sellers - one named undercatdog2 and another named gskohouse and the last named artice_ray . All of them have excellent feedback and I have never had an issue with any of my orders from them. All of these sellers are out of Asia. gskohouse is out of Japan while the other two are out of Singapore and Hong Kong (if I remember correctly). You can go over their items if you like. Keep in mind, they are imports so they may be a little high priced, but shipping is generally included with the price and they have always marked their items as gifts to avoid the customs tax.

Not sure if I had mentioned them before, but there is also CDJapan at the following web address - http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/

The only issue I had with them is their shipping is a little high and two items I ordered were actually out of stock so that was a let down. I did eventually receive the one disc they did have available and it was still sealed, new.

Like I said, I cannot say how Germany handles customs, but here in the US as long as the item is marked as a gift you don’t have to worry about any taxes on it. All these sellers know this and mark their packs as gifts. Also keep in mind that when the discs are out of these areas, they will be region 2 and region 3 (the DVDs). If you use VLC player, which is free, you don’t have to worry about regions when playing the DVDs. Undercatdog2 actually has one more copy of Olivia’s greatest hits 3 disc pack for $40USD, shipping included. Not sure if that is the price you were looking for, but as I said imports are a little expensive.

I generally only go to Amazon sellers when I cannot find a disc new and resort to getting one that was pre owned.

Hope this helps.

regularcelery asked: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR OLIVIA SCANS! I've been looking for many of them for YEARS! I'm overjoyed to have finally found what I have been searching endlessly for. Thank you so much!

You’re welcome. I like spreading the word about her music. I think she is underrated and I feel many people who’ve not heard of her will enjoy some of her stuff.

If any of you follow college football, this might interest you. Johnny Manziel AKA Johnny Football, QB for Texas A&M was suspended half a game (yes, really) for selling his autograph and pocketing thousands of dollars. Dez Bryant who is now a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, was suspended for lying to the NCAA about a dinner he had with Deion Sanders (the dinner was not deemed an infraction) for an entire year.
I’m in Texas so this is a huge story here. I just thought I’d post this little creation here for a little fun.
Oh, and if it matters, I think it’s a bunch of crap, too. Half a game? This HAD to be Manziel when he heard about this.

Here are some scans of @Livey2Venus ‘s single Sea Me. It has the cover she did for the song Africa which was originally done by a band called Toto back in 1982. The original was a pretty good song. Olivia’s cover is a very interesting take on it. I found it quite interesting and very enjoyable.

This particular single had a tri-fold insert. The 5th and 6th photos are actually all on one side of that tri-fold, but I took two scans and edited them separately because it was too large for my bed scanner.

Enjoy and share all you like. If you want info on where to get some of Olivia’s releases, send me a message and I can get you in contact with a couple of music stores in Japan.

PS Post #500. Makes sense that it would be more from O.

Here are the scans for @Livey2Venus ‘s single Color of Your Spoon. I especially like the artwork on this release. The last photo is one of the best ones she’s ever taken, at least in my opinion. I was able to get this one new, still sealed.

While Color and Grapefruit Tea are good songs, I especially like Lettuce Garden. I’ve always enjoyed her songs that have more of a rock edge to them. For example, her song SpiderSpins is terrific. I enjoy all her stuff, but the rock songs are amazing to me.

Enjoy and share all you like. If you want more info on where to purchase her discs, send me a message and I’ll get you hooked up with some information and contacts in Japan.

Looks what came in today! @Livey2Venus ‘s Color of Your Spoon single, still sealed. I don’t have time to make scans right now, but I thought I’d post a couple of pics of it for now.

I am still waiting on Sea Me which hopefully will be in tomorrow.

Share and enjoy!

ankokuraikoken asked: Thank you. I have pretty much everything that's on CDJapan already, been shopping there for a while, but the Amazon link has some out of print singles, I'll try to explore it.

Sometimes you just need to hook up with a single store in Japan and they can often lead you to others. They are usually very nice people who want to make a sale so they will often help you find a particular release.

ankokuraikoken asked: Hi, where do you buy OLIVIA related stuff? I already have some of her stuff but some things are just too hard to find!

There is a website called CDJapan. The web address is

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/

Their shipping is a little high, but they have a handful of her singles that are kind of hard to find. The only issue I had with them is sometimes they will say they have something in stock, but then after I order it, they say they are out. A little annoying, but they give you the option to cancel the order if that happens.

There is also a place out of Japan that I got in contact with through Amazon. They are called Samurai_Media_JPN4US and you can find them through Amazon. They have over 25k items on Amazon right now. They have a handful of Olivia’s stuff on their shipping is only $4 a disc which is pretty good. As with any import, some of the items are kind of expensive, but sometimes they have really good deals on her stuff so I check back with them a few times a month. Here is an amazon link:

http://www.amazon.com/LOST-LOLLI-OLIVIA/dp/B00015UAUE

If you click link that says “20 used,” it will give you a list of sellers. Samurai is the second from the top. Another seller you will see is Grace Wing Japan. They are alright, but I have dealt more with Samurai so I trust them. If you click on their names, their Amazon stores will pop up. There is a search bar. Type in Olivia’s name (just OLIVIA) and you will get a handful of results. You may get a few results that are not OLIVIA, but you will get some that are. Look them over and see which ones you’d like. They don’t have all of her stuff, but they do have some. I prefer purchasing new, but the used items I’ve gotten from these people have been in excellent shape and usually come complete with all stickers and extras that were sold with the disc when it was new.

Give these guys a try and see how they work out for you. If I had to pick someone from this list to buy from first, I would go with Samurai. They package their items very well, Shipping is relatively fast, and the their pricing is reasonable.

PS I have a few private sellers that I am in contact with, but I am not at liberty to release their information. They prefer to remain private so I will respect their wishes.
